Privacy Policy

1. What this site does today

This website is an online storefront for a real, physical café in Hackensack, NJ. As of this writing, it has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no mailing list, and no advertising trackers. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first tool that gives us aggregate visit counts without cookies, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking — it can't tell us who you are. The only cookies this site may set are strictly-necessary security cookies from Cloudflare (such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance) used to tell humans apart from malicious bots; they aren't used for tracking or advertising. If any of this changes (for example, once online booking or a newsletter goes live), we'll update this page to describe exactly what's collected and why before it happens.

2. Gaming accounts & in-café PCs

Our PCs are wiped between sessions. We do not store your game logins, browsing history, or files after you log out.

3. Third-party services this site connects to

Loading this website causes your browser to contact a few outside services on its own, the way almost every website does. Each may see your IP address and basic request details purely as an inherent part of your browser fetching that resource. We don't share anything with them beyond that.

• unpkg.com: a public code library (CDN) that loads the software this site is built with. It doesn't collect anything from you beyond routine connection information.
• Cloudflare: hosts this website, delivers it to your browser, protects it from malicious bots (which may involve a brief automated security check and the security cookies described above), and provides our aggregate, cookieless visit statistics via Cloudflare Web Analytics. 4. Social media links

The Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok icons on this site are plain links to our profiles. Clicking one takes you there, but nothing from those platforms is embedded or tracked on this page. If you follow us there, your relationship with that platform is governed by its own policy: Instagram ↗, Facebook ↗, TikTok ↗.

5. Children's privacy

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

6. Your rights & how to reach us

Beyond the aggregate, anonymous visit statistics described above, we don't collect personal information through this site — so there's nothing on file about you to access, correct, or delete. If that ever changes, or you just have a question, reach us at ctrlaltrefreshllc@gmail.com.

7. New Jersey Data Privacy Act & changes to this policy

The New Jersey Data Privacy Act (effective January 15, 2025) applies once a business meets certain thresholds for the amount of consumer data it processes. We don't currently meet those thresholds, but we're posting this notice as a good-faith baseline regardless. We'll update this policy if bookings, a newsletter, or payment processing go live on this site, or as our practices otherwise change. The current version always lives at this address.
